Auburn Chiropractor, Dr. Erich Parks
Chiropractic is the safest of the healing arts.
I was hurt by a chiropractor, as he attempted to help me recover from an athletic injury when I was just a teenager. I didn’t go back. The art and science of chiropractic has advanced considerably, now the safest of all healing arts. My decision to become a chiropractor came many years later.
I wanted to work with the brain and nervous system in college, so I studied neuropsychology. I later discovered chiropractors helped people heal themselves by removing interference to the brain and spine with their adjustments. I knew this would be my passion! I entered chiropractic school in Los Angeles receiving a BS in biology and graduated cum laude in 1981.
After opening my practice in Auburn, California in October 1982, I studied orthopedics for four years, and received a postgraduate diploma in chiropractic orthopedics. The state of California appointed me a qualified medical examiner for workers compensation injuries in 1988. I served four years on the California Chiropractic Association Board of Directors. I continue my association with the California Chiropractic Association and International Chiropractic Association, due to the high ethical standards required for membership. I served my community as president two years on my church board, three years on the Boys and Girls club Board and helped form a local walking club (Volksmarch), now the largest in California.
Early in my chiropractic training, I had the fortune to associate with two leaders in health care who guided me to the secrets of athletic performance with Applied Kinesiology (AK) which I have studied for 28 years. AK integrates several healing arts with chiropractic, helping the doctor understand what the body needs to heal and stay healthy.
My family has grown up in Auburn. My wife and I married, several months before moving to Auburn in 1982. Our two children are beacons for a healthy lifestyle among their peers. We cross-country ski, swim and hike together throughout the seasons.
Our family doesn’t use drugs, vaccinations or antibiotics, unless a life-threatening illness presents, instead we focus on what creates health. My family and staff receive chiropractic checkups weekly, practicing our health principles daily!
